About Me:

Matthew Marie Rowland was an only child and born in Olympia, Washington. His mother was American, and his father was Polish.During the summer of 2015 (between 8th and 9th grade), his parents divorced, so he and his mother moved to Seattle together, and he took his mother's maiden name, rather than having his surname rename as Radzikowska. At Riverbank High School, he met his current friend group, and quickly became best friends with August during his sophomore year.Once they all graduated from RHS in 2019, Matthew realized he was transgender, but didn't start testosterone until he was 20. He started dating August in mid-2023. He lived with August since early 2024. Since September of 2024, Nava begun living with them. A month later, Astlyr and Nyx moved in.In July 2023, he joined Astlyr and Chione's darkwave band, Duskmoth Aether, as a keyboardist and drum/bass machinist.

About Me:

August Lani Akkai was born in Portland, Oregon. He is of Chuukese descent, and he is the older brother to his sister and brother Namiko and Makoa. His family moved to West Seattle in 2011.When he was at Riverbank High School, he quickly became good friends with Lamai and Endya during his freshman year, and Matthew during his sophomore year, but didn't start dating until October 2023. He lived with Matthew since May 2024. Since September of 2024, Nava begun living with them. A month later, Astlyr and Nyx moved in.August knew he was transmasc since his senior year, but he didn't start testosterone until he was 19--a little while after he graduated from RHS in 2019.He attended Hawthorn University and majored in business, then graduated in 2023. Navaleen Tiare Mori-Aten is an only child, and was born in Seattle, Washington. She is of Chuukese descent. Her mom, Linda Mori, got divorced in 2012, and had to move multiple times with Nava to seek jobs and decent housing. Her last name is a mixture of her mother's maiden name, and her former surname, in that order.Before moving to her current home in West Seattle, she has went to a total of 3 school districts--with 2 different elementary schools, and 2 middle schools.Finally, during September of 2024, when she was soon to start her sophomore year, she moved to her home in West Seattle. Joaquin Lola Moreno was born in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. Him and his parents and younger sister immigrated to the US when he was only 7. He lived in El Centro, California for some time, then his family moved to Seattle when he was 10. He realized he was transmasc when he was 13.He has developed anxiety and PTSD due to having to leave behind his belongings and beloved cat, Tom, in Mexicali. Sorella Marco Fallaci was born in Seattle, Washington. When she was 5 years old, her parents divorced, and her father took custody of her, while her mother took custody of her older sister, Maida, who was 11 at the time.When she was 6, her step-mother gave birth to her little brother Shawn. However, around the time she became a teenager, she realized she was transgender, but she hasn't really acted like her father's definition of a "strong man" since she was a pre-teen. Therefore, her father psychologically abused her for the rest of her life with him.During her sophomore year, she met Kasper, Zishan, and Valencia at GSA. They quickly bonded over being trans. She has been dating Kasper since senior year.When she turned 18, she started living in a college apartment for North Puget Sound College of the Arts that was close to Maida, therefore got to reunite with her. She also sent Shawn to live with Maida and her biological mother.Because of the trauma she endured, she often misses being a child before kindergarten age. Duskmoth Aether is a multinational darkwave trio based in Seattle, Washington, established under Glass Chapel Records on July 26th, 2023. The group consists of Norwegian singer and producer Astlyr Lovdahl, Korean-American guitarist and bassist Nyx Hwang, and Polish-American multi-instrumentalist and occasional vocalist Matthew Rowland.Duskmoth Aether originated from Astlyr’s earlier solo project, DJ Quintessence—an EBM and darkwave act active from August 2019 to July 2023. She frequently performed alongside Chione Kuznetsov, also known by her stage name Lady Katakomba, an EBM, techno, and aggrotech DJ who has been producing music since October 2019. Both artists were close friends with Matthew and Nyx.Astlyr and Chione first performed together in a B2B set at a warehouse rave and pride event in June 2022. Matthew and Nyx were also present backstage, given that they were friends with both performers. At the time, Matthew was an aspiring producer and had been dating Chione since January 2022. In early 2023, Chione gifted Matthew her old Polivoks synthesizer.In July 2023, Astlyr, Matthew, and Chione officially formed Duskmoth Aether and signed with Glass Chapel Records. Chione initially shared similar roles with Nyx and also assisted with managing Matthew’s instruments. However, following her breakup with Matthew in August 2023, Chione moved to Olympia and departed from the band. She was soon replaced by Nyx.The band began producing and releasing singles that would later appear on their self-titled debut album, which released in July 2024.

About Me:

Chione Boris Kuznetsov (Хионе Борис Кузнецов) was born in Moscow, Russia. She moved to Seattle in 2005.She knew Matthew Rowland, Astlyr Lovdahl, and Nyx Hwang since their junior year--she was in her senior year at the time in 2018. She realized she was transfem in 2016, which was during her sophomore year.She has been producing EBM, techno, and aggrotech music under the name of Lady Katakomba since October 2019.She first performed alongside Astlyr, who went by the stage name of DJ Quintessence, in June of 2022 at a warehouse rave and pride event where Matthew and Nyx were present backstage. Matthew was an aspiring producer who has been dating Chione since January 2022.In July 2023, Astlyr, Matthew, and Chione officially formed Duskmoth Aether and signed with Glass Chapel Records. Chione initially shared similar roles with Nyx and also assisted with managing Matthew’s instruments. However, following her breakup with Matthew in August 2023, Chione moved to Olympia and departed from the band. She was soon replaced by Nyx.She hasn't performed live since. Matthew, Astlyr, and Nyx lost all contact with her. In January 2025, she was a victim to a transphobic hate crime and was fatally beaten to death.
